The Yokohama pneumatic floating fender offers the best fender solution for naval vessels. The floating fender system allows ships to fender on the waterline and is a suitable and cost-effective solution to berths with a range of tidal differences.
Onboard Fenders
The naval lightweight fender was specifically manufactured following extensive trials in association with the Royal Navy. The fender had to meet strict criteria being lightweight, offering easy stowage, non-marking, whilst providing high performance and excellent through-life costs. All fenders have been awarded NATO certification.
Submarine Fenders
The Yokohama submarine fender was launched in 1984, since then it has been extensively used by navies across the world for vessels both large and small.
In order to provide full protection, both at surface and underwater, the Yokohama pneumatic submarine fenders are deployed vertically. To maintain their position, the fenders are water ballasted and also have a counter-weight attached to the bottom of the fender. The weight, shape and method of deployment of the counter-weight can be adjusted to suit individual situation.
Due to its design, it is virtually maintenance-free and offers the flexibility of submarine to quay and rafting of vessels.
